Ep. 47

The 2025 budget camera review

Five bodies, five budgets, and a verdict I would give at the counter. The 400 dollar class has finally stopped pretending it is a camera and started behaving like one. What changed in 2025 is less about the sensor and more about the lens, the power and the patience to wait for a frame.

The winner is not the loudest camera on the list. It is the one that keeps shooting when the light goes out, which is the entire point of carrying a camera anywhere.

Ep. 46

Field recorders I actually trust

Recorders are cheap and the ones that survive the field are not. I put four of them through the same storm, the same wind and the same bad memory card, and the difference showed up in the first ten seconds.

If you are buying a recorder for the first time, buy the one that makes the sound you want and keep the money for the mic that carries it.
