Halftone Works / Brand and graphic design

Halftone Works Brand and graphic design

A studio that works in the print register: logo systems, packaging, posters and type design, set out as a monograph so the work can be read the way a book is read.

  • Rotterdam and Lisbon
  • Studio and press
  • Selected work, 2020 to 2025

01 / Selected work

Four spreads, printed on paper

Each case is a spread of its own: the brief, the work, the plate and the notes. Keep scrolling and the spreads move sideways.

03 / Color system

Press swatches scrub like a strip

Drag across the strip or move your pointer and the active swatch follows. The ink values stay in the file.

04 / Lectures and talks

Talks and lectures in the archive

Two talks from the studio, filmed at the press and at the school. Both are set out like the work.

01 / Lecture

14 March, Rotterdam

Printing in the age of screen

Why a brand still has to be printed, and what the press teaches a design team about hierarchy. Thirty minutes on the spot, with the proof sheet on the table.

The screen is fast. The press is slow. And the slow one decides what you can say.

02 / Talk

22 November, Lisbon

Type is a system, not a font

How a face gets cut, how it gets set, and what happens to the specimen when the client changes the brief halfway through.

A specimen is not a sample. It is the argument.
